Xanthoquinodin A1 is a fungal metabolite that has been found in Humicola and has diverse biological activities.1,2 It inhibits E. tenella schizont formation in BHK-21 cells with a minimum effective concentration (MEC) value of 0.02 μg/ml.1 Xanthoquinodin A1 is active against B. subtilis, M. luteus, S. aureus, A. laidlawii, and B. fragilis in a disc assay when used at a concentration of 1 mg/ml.
